I mean, come on it very simple isn't it? No, absolutely not at all and here are a few tips to get you going.

1. Get a notebook, a pretty large one at that and start putting your ideas in there BUT lets start with the guests. Now I can hear you asking why them, this is your day after all! Once you have an idea of the amount of people you are going to invite then you can decide on the venue and then thats where the planning begins. Always add a few more onto your total as Uncle Berts Great Aunt Lil will be offended if you didn't remember her....you get the picture. It may be an idea to take on a Wedding Planner you really feel it will overwhelm you.

2. Check out your chosen date, you may have all the men running off to watch a football final if you don't. Look to see whats happened on that date the year before and plan around it. If you want a marquee, best not to have it in the height of summer in a farmers field for instance, unless you and your guests want to be food for horseflies and midges.

3. Choose a venue that can hold the amount of guests and think about parking and accommodation, also local taxi firms to the hotels if required, don't want to find your guests sleeping in the lobby of your beautiful venue as they couldn't catch a ride back!
